African Diapsora Cultural Anchor Village

On December 1, 2023, ACHD purchased a SeaTac site just over 2-acres, within a 1/2 mile of the Tukwila International Blvd Station. Designed by SMR Architects, the ADCAV will provide affordable gathering and performing art space, outdoor recreational space with a community garden, and retail and office spaces to host local businesses such as a coffee shop or halal corner market.

The campus will offer intersecting and coordinated resources, coalescing into the fabric of support for entire families. This includes high-quality STEAM classrooms for youth, a much-needed early learning center, senior enrichment programs, family engagement, workforce development programs, social services, and basic needs support.

As ACHD continues to intercept displacement from the very neighborhoods we have nurtured, the ADCAV is a transformational opportunity to directly address the systemic inequities our community experiences while uniquely modeling how to build a cultural sense of belonging on one site, now and for future generations.
